Ukrainian customs legislation is brought in line with EU legislation

The Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danylo Hetmantsev, announced that the Rada supported as a basis the draft Law on Amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine to implement certain provisions of the Customs Code of the European Union under the number 10411.
This project is designed to implement the commitments Ukraine has undertaken to harmonize its customs legislation with that of the European Union.
The project aims to introduce the following measures into the customs legislation of Ukraine:
- Introduction of the concept of customs representation similar to that applied in the European Union countries.
- Adoption of the European approach to the generalization of provisions on customs regimes.
In addition, the project proposes to harmonize the International Control Office (ICO) regulations on delivery, presentation of goods and their temporary storage under customs control with the European Union regulations, as well as to improve the criteria for granting authorizations for the application of simplifications.
