Port of Chornomorsk has resumed activities

Transportation of agricultural products through the Chornomorsk seaport (located in Odesa region), which was heavily damaged by a Russian missile strike last week, is gradually recovering. According to Spike Brokers, in 2023, the share of agricultural exports by water transport was 36% for the Chornomorsk port, while the ports on the Danube accounted for 32%, Odesa port 17% and Yuzhny port 15%.
"Over the past week, freight rates for corn on the east coast of Italy decreased by $3, and in the direction of Spain and Israel - by $2. The freight rate for the transportation of grain by panamax from the deep-water ports of Odesa to China and Vietnam decreased by $4," the experts said.
As of 22 April, prices for delivery from the port of Chornomorsk to Italy (east coast) were $29-30 per tonne (with a volume of 30-35 thsd tonnes), to Spain (Mediterranean) - $30-32 per tonne (with a volume of 30000-35000 tonnes), to Vietnam - $52-54 per tonne (with a volume of 60-65 thsd tonnes), to China - $54-56 per tonne (with a volume of 60000-65000 tonnes).
At the same time, market prices for cargo transportation through the port of Izmail to the port of Constanta (Romania) as of the specified date were EUR18-22 per tonne (with a volume of 4.500-5000 thousand tonnes), to the ports of the Mediterranean coast of Spain - $35-37 per tonne (with a volume of 30-35 thousand tonnes). Prices for transportation from the port of Reni to the ports of Israel ranged from $33-35 per tonne (with a volume of 30000-35000 tonnes), according to Spike Brokers.
