How Sunflower Oil Transportation Is Carried Out

The delivery of sunflower oil is carried out in specialized stainless steel tankers of grade AISI 304 or 316L. The capacity of the tankers ranges from 22 to 25 cubic meters. Before loading, a thorough cleaning of the tank is conducted using a clean-in-place (CIP) method. The process includes rinsing with hot water (85°C), circulating a cleaning solution, rinsing again, and steam sterilization.

Loading is performed through a top hatch or bottom valve. It is important to minimize the contact of the oil with air to prevent oxidation. The product temperature during loading should be between 18-25°C. The tanker is filled to 98% of its capacity, leaving space for thermal expansion.

During the transportation of sunflower oil in containers, a constant temperature is maintained using a heating system (steam jacket). This prevents the product from solidifying at low ambient temperatures. Digital thermometers with an accuracy of up to 0.5°C are used to monitor the temperature.

When transporting liquid fatty acids, the unloading service is performed through the bottom valve using pumps or compressors. It is crucial to ensure complete emptying of the tank without mixing residuals with other products during subsequent transports.

Which Oils Are Considered Vegetable Oils

Vegetable oils include: sunflower oil (approximately 60% of all shipments), canola oil, soybean oil, olive oil, corn oil, flaxseed oil, and palm oil. The transportation of sunflower oil by tankers is in high demand due to the product's popularity in Europe. Its transportation requires special attention to temperature control and prevention of oxidation.
