International transportation of machinery and production lines
Industrial machinery transportation differs from ordinary palletised cargo delivery. Even a compact machine can be extremely heavy, have an offset centre of gravity, precision guideways, electronic units and components sensitive to vibration. A production line also consists of multiple modules that must be correctly marked, allocated between vehicles and delivered in a sequence suitable for installation.

Machinery and production lines we transport
We arrange transportation of lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines, CNC machining centres, presses, laser and plasma systems, injection moulding machines and equipment for woodworking and metalworking.

Individual components of the same line can differ considerably in weight and dimensions. Vehicles are therefore selected for each package rather than according to the total shipment weight alone, with loading requirements and delivery sequence also taken into account.
Vehicles used for machinery transportation
When a machine fits within standard transport dimensions, it may be carried in a curtain-sided semi-trailer. Top and side opening facilitates crane loading, while the curtain protects the equipment from precipitation and road contamination. Mega trailers may be used for taller machines, while BDE Mega equipment with sliding pillars is suitable for certain large units that can still be positioned inside the body.
Platforms and low-loaders are used for wide, tall or heavy equipment. Such delivery may fall under international oversized cargo transportation and require special permits, an approved route and escort vehicles.
When a production line includes different types of equipment, curtain-sided trailers, Mega units and low-loaders may be used within the same project. The objective is to allocate modules efficiently and avoid using expensive specialised transport for cargo that can travel safely on standard equipment.
Preparing machinery for international transportation
Accurate packaged dimensions and weights must be confirmed before the vehicle is booked. The transport position, centre of gravity, lifting points, supporting surfaces and manufacturer’s securing limitations should also be known.
Moving elements, doors, carriages, spindles and other assemblies should be fixed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Sensitive surfaces and electronic components require protection from moisture, dust, impact and prolonged exposure. When machinery is partly dismantled, each removed module should be marked and included in the packing list.
Rigging, dismantling, packing and preservation may be performed by the shipper or a specialised contractor. We coordinate these operations with the vehicle schedule and check that the prepared cargo units correspond to the technical information previously provided.
Loading and securing industrial equipment
The loading method depends on machine weight, frame design, available lifting points and factory infrastructure. Before the truck arrives, it should be confirmed whether an overhead or mobile crane, forklift, hydraulic jacks or other equipment will be used.
Vehicle weight limits, axle-load distribution and cargo stability are considered during positioning. Chains, webbing straps, anti-slip mats, timber supports, blocking and other solutions may be used according to the particular machine. Securing equipment must not apply unsafe forces to precision or vulnerable components.
Transportation of oversized and heavy machinery
When the width, height, length or total combination weight exceeds standard legal limits, the shipment is planned as oversized. Bridges, height restrictions, roadworks, permitted loads, manoeuvring areas and access to the consignee’s facility are reviewed before transport begins.

Multi-truck delivery of a complete production line
A master packing list is prepared for a production line, showing the identification number, dimensions, weight and allocated vehicle for every unit. This supports completeness control and makes it possible to identify the location of each module.
The loading schedule is coordinated with the shipper’s factory, while the delivery schedule is aligned with the readiness of the installation site. If all vehicles cannot be accepted simultaneously, an arrival sequence is agreed. Base frames and main machines may be delivered first, followed by conveyors, auxiliary modules, electrical cabinets and components.
The shipment may form part of industrial project logistics when it requires numerous vehicles, special permits, port operations or several delivery stages.
Multimodal delivery of machinery and production lines
Equipment from China, the United States, Japan, South Korea and other distant countries may travel by sea in containers or on specialised shipping equipment before continuing by road. Standard modules can be loaded into dry containers, while oversized cargo may require Open Top or Flat Rack equipment.
For multimodal cargo transportation, the loading, securing, port handling and onward delivery possibilities must be checked in advance. Cargo dimensions must include the transport frame, crate or other packaging rather than the machinery alone.
Documents for machinery transportation
International road delivery normally involves a commercial invoice, packing list, foreign trade contract, CMR consignment note and customs documents. For used machinery, the model, serial number, production year, condition, value and completeness should be stated correctly.
