There are plans to introduce joint controls with Moldova at the Giurgiulesti - Galati border crossing point by September, similar to those already in place at the Reni - Giurgiulesti border crossing point. This will allow trucks to travel from Reni to Galati without additional stops.

The development of export logistics in the Danube region was discussed at a recent meeting of the Ukraine/Moldova/Romania/European Commission/US format. The participants considered a number of solutions aimed at increasing export potential, the implementation of which requires the participation of the Ukrainian, Romanian and Moldovan parties.

"First of all, we are talking about the Danube ports, as well as simplification and acceleration of cargo movement by road to the ports of Galati and Constanta. We also discussed the idea of introducing a separate electronic queue for those lorries heading to Galati via Reni. We will consider this issue in detail. In parallel, we plan to further develop the Reni border crossing point. For this purpose we have applied to the CEF programme of the European Union" - Sergey Derkach
