Ukraine is preparing to open a new border crossing point with Romania
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Romania on 2 April approved a plan to open a new border crossing point between Ukraine and Romania, namely Bila Tserkva - Sighetu Marmatsi. This step envisages expanding opportunities for Ukrainian exporters and intensifying the process of integrating the Ukrainian sector into European markets.
Ukraine and Romania are building an extremely favourable partnership, and we intend to deepen it constantly. In total, we plan to create 9 new border crossing points in the western direction and modernise 13 more. All this will provide great opportunities for Ukrainian exports and accelerate our sectoral integration into the European Union," Shmygal said.
The corridor, which leads from Ukraine to the ports of Romania and Bulgaria, is gradually becoming one of the main grain markets in the North-Western Black Sea region, stretching to the Danube River.
