This year, the railway began a season of track repair works, which are aimed at updating the infrastructure in areas with high intensity of train traffic. The plans of the management of Ukrzaliznytsia for 2024 include the repair of more than 1195 kilometers of tracks and 1073 sets of turnouts. In particular, it is planned to overhaul 386 kilometers of tracks, and 810 kilometers are planned to carry out medium repairs.

The work will be actively carried out in areas with high workload and high wear and tear. During the year, railway workers intend to use 310 units of track equipment and 2,640 units of specialized rolling stock based on freight cars to carry out track repair work. In addition, in 2024, it is planned to restore 5 artificial structures damaged as a result of hostilities.

"The purpose of each repair is to ensure the safe and stable movement of trains. Repair work will not affect the rhythm of passenger traffic. "Ukrzaliznytsia will not cancel passenger flights without providing an alternative: the company each time offers bypass and transfer routes or strengthens alternative connections," Ukrzaliznytsia said
